Car audio Amp help

I just purchased a new truck and it came with a nice little system but no amp. I plan on just using one amp, can anyone please recommend a decent one that would go good with what I have? I also want to know that if I decide to switch out my sub later would I be able to use the recommended amp for the 4 regular speakers until I get a new sub or would that be too much power and ruin them? Thanks!

There are plenty of 5 channel amps in the market ;
PA D5000.5 will run everything you throw at it and it is a compact system. It does costs a bit more than normal amps. -
Just ordered a PA D5000.5 from internet at $308.xx - new not refurbished. Was looking for one quality amp for my 4 speakers and a sub that's going on the boat and the Polk seemed to be just the ticket. Shop around. I'd say where I'm getting it from but due to my low "post-count", don't want to raise a red flag.

Make sure its from an authorized dealer. If it aint or its someplace like Ebay, youre not gonna get much of a warranty with it and no guarantee its not brand spankin' new.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Yes, authorized dealers only - unless you like to gamble.

Every Polk amp that I've seen, or owned, runs hot, why is that?

You must have seen very many. I've owned several and they've all worked just fine. Never had a problem out of any of them.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
