So I'm playing some tunes off my laptop the only source I use with my DAC, and it just quit putting out sound.

It powers up, everything looks normal from just looking at it, but it no longer puts out sound, unless I'm missing something here but I don't get it. When I disconnect the laptop sound will come out of its speakers..

I'm really bummed as I hate shipping gear to be fixed, yes it's still under warranty..

Mac or Windows laptop? Update or change anything of late? Mac had some software issues that were addressed.

Windows, and I haven't changed anything, this laptop is only used for music only, never surf the net or anything, I even swapped USB cables just in case, and nothing.

I'm going to try another source tonight, but I still think something is up.

I talked to Clint this morning, he said if that doesn't work get it ready to ship back and he will fix it..

First time I've heard of one of these failing. Good luck Larry.

    My DAC is fine!!!!

I left it unplugged all day while at work, came home started from scratch, reloaded the software, set my DAC to fixed, and BAM!! Working like a charm..

Not sure what happened but I will keep an eye on it...

I will do, all day long I kept telling myself there is no way it's the DAC, I think it was a glitch in the laptop..

    Larry,
Have you looked at the W4S DAC-DSDse??? I am very close at buying either the se or the DSD. Opinions on the se? Some threads love it some say beyond the 64 (128) not so good.

The DAC will be for a home digital music server. Currently an old hp laptop but waiting to see what the mac mini's will look like.

99% of the time it's software related when it comes to USB and a computer for audio. Glad it worked out for you.
