Just curious what subwoofers everyone is using and what your experiences have been?

I'm currently using a Polk PSW10, but am now considering building my own using the Dayton Audio Titanic speaker from Parts Express. My receiver is a 7.2 setup, so it would allow me to run both subs together. Does anyone on the boards have experience building their own?

You might check out DIYaudio.com about builds using that woofer. Also after you build your sub. I would forget using the PSW10 in conjunction with the Titanic. IMO, that would be like having a nice big powerful 4x4 pulling a Suzuki Samarai everywhere it goes.

If you want to run two subs I would build two using the Titanic woofer. What amps are you going to run on them?

Also, I should mention that I plan on building a 4th order enclosure for the sub.

Hsu VTF2-MKIV. LOVE IT! Would love to have a second one to smooth it out even more. I have the PSW10 and it's pretty pitiful compared to a "real" sub. Ditch it when you upgrade, for sure.

I am running a VMPS Original Sub in my H/T rig. Very accurate sounding passive sub that has a 12" driver and 12" passive radiator. The VMPS subs sound really good to me when set-up properly. They are however really hard to find.

I'm running a James Loudspeaker L4000P. It has 4x10" woofers in bandpass configuration, 10" active woofer behind a 10" passive radiator. It sounds great for music and HT once I got everything dialed in, in REW.
