DVD lip-synch problem

Bought some used DVDs via Amazon partner. Boxes and dvds look good--if they're bootlegs, it's not obvious to me. These are Seasons 1-5 of the TV show "Castle".
The Season One discs all seem to have the same problem. Each episode starts out where the dialog and the lip-movement don't match very well. By the end of the episode, a line of dialog is heard, and then a moment later, the actor moves his lips.
Season Two is remarkably better. Only certain scenes have this problem, and it's much less noticeable. We haven't played Seasons 3--5 yet. We haven't noticed a lip-synch problem on any of our other DVDs.
ANYONE ELSE notice this about Castle; or DVDs in general? I'm not finding other folks complaining about it in the Amazon reviews.

Try switching the receiver into DIRECT or PURE sound mode. Another trick which might work is to see if you can get your Blu-ray player to do a bit of the processing. Send out the sound PCM. If that doesn't help try BITSTREAM. Its sort of trial and error, but your best bet to fix this is to have a receiver which can compensate for this problem. One with the lip-syncing feature.
