Can a MiniDSP + REW setup EQ a full 5.1 or 7.1 setup?

The more I look at MiniDSP, the more I am curious about if it could be used between an older AVR (with somewhat outdated EQ, or no EQ at all) and an dedicated amp, to provide a EQ'd result similar to Audyssey, ARC, etc without too much work?

It seems the MiniDSP would work great for this since paired with REW you get a measured room response of your room just like those other Auto Calibrators, however you can tweak it how you like and then see those same results after the fact...

Anyone know if you can use REW for a multichannel (re 5.1/7.1/9.1) setup? And if so, can you then load those results into a miniDSP (with enough channels) to EQ a full HT setup?

For any EQ setup, the only time you're really worried about the speakers other than the sub is around the XO point especially if you can use a steep XO slope from an AVR. Other than that, I would just EQ the sub separately as its own to give you good in-room response below the XO point. Thus, there would be no need to load all the channels into the REW. The auto calibrators do the same thing as the Minidsp except you don't have to handle the PEQ filters yourself. You would have to experiment with the width, frequency, etc you would like to set it at with the Minidsp. In practice, you would EQ a multichannel setup the same way you would a 2ch setup.
