Can I use a 5ch amp with 2 different preamps?

Hey guys,
I have an amp and preamp connectivity question. I'm kinda new to this and just gathering my equipment and trying to be sensible about acquisition, so trying to get the most mileage out of what I have to work with.

so I have a used 5ch amp coming, and have 2 preamps I want to play with.
- I have a pre/pro that I am only using 3 channels on
- I have a preamp that I want to play around with 2ch on
- each has its own set of speakers

The question is, can I wire up and leave connected all the time
- 3 channels to the pre/pro, and
- 2 channels to the preamp?

Your question: Can I use a 5ch amp with 2 different preamps?

Answer: Yes, you can split the amp channels between multiple pre-amps. The amp doesnt care where the source signal is coming from as long as its getting one.

so it's okay to run these two preamps independently, and even at the same time, correct?
was thinking I'd never run them both at the same time, but I could technically if I wanted to run a second zone, right?
