It's one thing to have gobbs of current, it's another to actually be able to use it.

which brings to mind SET's and efficient speakers

While current is a good thing, how much needs to have some thought put into it. A 500 buck pair of speakers at 8 ohm doesn't need an amp with 70 amperes of current. Your amp will turn into Rip Van Winkle, wake it up it when you want it to actually do something. LOL

    hahaha!
so 200w/150amp peak mono blocks for 8ohm 200w speakers is a complete waste I gather?

With that much current draw(running 2 HCA-1200IIs), will you need a 20 amp dedicated circuit?

I'll only run my HCA 1500A of a 20amp dedicated...

I've noticed an improvement with bottom end slam and a lower noise floor setting up a dedicated line.

I JUST moved my 2ch system to my Pool Table room and I installed a 20amp line just for the audio goodies...
