Which one Marantz or Parasound?

So long story short a buddy of mine is in the Home Audio business and ordered me a Marantz SR5008 back in July. With Marantz still jerking us around when they will be getting a shipment We talked about it and was thinking of ordering me a Parasound P5 Pre amp instead. I have thought about it and I listen to just as much music as I do movies so I could really go either way. I am running a carver A400X amp if anyone is curious.

Which should I choose?

    I don't know why Marantz is jerking you around cuz these are available all over the place at $899. If you can go separates, then do so.

    However the A400x is only a 2 channel amp and you need 3 or 5 more amp channels

    You need to figure out the apples and oranges of your config.

    Ya I know it's only a 2 channel. So if I went with parasound it would only be a 2 channel setup. I think because we waited for the newer model and he is a smaller dealer.

    I just got a SR7008 from AVS with no problems. As for which one to get...get the parasound if you want 2 channel but with your HT setup I don't think you'd be happy down the road.

    Thinking of a P5 myself. I think it would improve 2 channel by a huge margin.

    Where are you guys buying your Marantz from? if it is a larger reseller than your going to get it before he does as he is a smaller dealer.

    Very strange why they won't send it to him.....

    Personally I would never wait that long.

    Just tell him Hey, I have been waiting since July for this, and i hope you can understand i am going to buy it from some were else if he is a good friend he should understand. 6 months is a long time the new models will get announced soon....
