Can I use a DVD player with Surroundbar 360?

My second tuner/DVD player has gone out on my Surroundbsr 360. Replacing it costs way more than a Blueray player, and I'm not forking out the cash... even if I have to dump the whole thing. Can I connect a Blueray player to the tuner and use that instead.

    Hello jcjrogers,
I'm sorry there's a problem with the SurroundBar 360. You should be able to use an outboard DVD player, make sure the player has either an S-video output (preferred) or a composite video output. Then there will need to be a standard left and right audio output. There isn't an HDMI input on the Polk, however, so you'll need either S-video or composite video as source outputs.
    Regards, Ken

Thanks Ken! This is the second time the DVD player went out. It is too expensive to replace tuner/DVD player all-in-one every time the player goes out... especially since the standard DVD player is antiquated. It is best just to punt and get a separate player.

Another question, is there a way to use the surround bar with a different tuner?

    Hello,
I don't believe there would be a way to use the speaker section, of the SB360, with an outboard receiver. Sorry.

What would happen if I just connected the blu ray player to the TV and then ran the 360 in TV mode?
