Well I did it I pushed the button, loaded my cart, checked out, (pulled the trigger). I just ordered a 105 Darbee edition and to join the ranks of fellow Oppo owners on the site, ones that I might want to bug the s**t out of with questions. It will go along with the new F4000 55 inch UHD Samsung, Panamax, surge and the Rtia's and 2 PSW 111's will be getting a Denon X4000 or 4520CI for a new AVR.

Until then I will use the Denon 891 until the funds become available from the above mentioned AVR's. I guess what I am trying to say is yeeeehah. I told the wife I was going to order a new universal player didn't say how much though wish me luck people. I will be patiently waiting for the Fed Ex stork to bring me my new Baby LOL.

I'm just stumbled across the 105 the other night while looking for a BDP that provides 5.1 analog outputs and have been reading a bit about these. feature rich, that's for sure. I gotta see what this is like. I'm trying to hold off until I get a few other things pieced together, but I think this is gonna end up in my system at some point, as well.

haha, was your hand shaking as you navigated your purchase? how about any nausea or puking after?

For a hundred more you might as well otherwise you will be wondering why you did not order the Darbee once you push that checkout button. Hear that Zane now 2 of us will be bugging the s**t out of you, oh well you started it. I have to admit I loaded the cart and unloaded it a couple of times before the button was pushed and for a couple of days to boot.

I am going to probably order the 105 and see if I can use it for a pre-amp in my two channel rig and order the 103D for my HT rig. I have a 70" Sharp in the HT and would like to see what the Darbee edition would do for it. I want the 105 in the two channel for the DAC in it and I believe it will have enough inputs for the two channel system. But like you said for only a hunky more may just get the 105D, so I am kind of on the fence right now. But it will for sure be ordered in the next couple of days.

did you order directly through Oppo?

just read up a little on Darbee. at that level, why wouldn't one spend the extra $100 on that?

I'm also seeing region free models. how does one come upon one of those? or is it a mod?

Yep Oppo direct if you go on amazons site they to order it through Oppo also, I talked to a couple of Oppo reps at great lengths they were more than happy to answer all my questions, nice group of people at Oppos Customer Service.

Congrats on the purchase! Also if you order direct from Oppo you can return your purchase within 30 days if you're not happy, you're just out the shipping. Their CS is second to none for sure. And you can region free your player for DVD, but blu-ray region free requires a hardware mod you'd have to get from a third party.

You know there is going to be an oppo 4k coming soon? Netflix has already made the 4k streaming codec and it only requires 15 mps. I am more curious about the TV you bought, when you say UHD is that an ultra high def 4k tv?

Congratulations Steve! You FINALLY pulled the trigger....good. We'd all heard enough yappin' about it. ;-)

Glad you held out for the D version too. Now, there'll be no regrets....unless, of course, the wife sees the purchase order or the credit card statement. Might want to make sure all evidence is cleared on the pronto!

I'll bet you anything that that will pixelate and stutter like CRAZY at 15 mps. There's no way Netflix has those kinks worked out, not even close!

The 105D is 4K ready it will upscale 4K content the the Samsung F9000 UHD is a 4k set the 2 Denons I'm looking at are able to upscale 4K content also.

Heck, I think my old 103 I bought the 2nd week they were out is possibly 4K ready. Maybe someone else can chime in on this. Congrats to you guys, enjoy the Oppos!

Congrats on your 105! I've had mine for about 30 days and love it for 2 channel. Haven't tried it for video yet. FYI, I bought mine from Crutchfield due to free shipping and a 60 day return policy. The free shipping makes the price virtually identical to buying direct.

I hear the same thing with just about every purchase....The last one was, "You could have taken me and the kids out with that money...and on, and on.... You have to learn to roll with it and work it out with the Boss!

As much as I want a 105, it just is not going to happen but I have the 103 in my sites.

On the Darbee - is this really only for high end televisions for the most part? Where would you guys say the cutoff would be for whether to go Darbee or not? I'm not a huge tv person - movies mostly, no sports, not much tv - don't plan or 4k anytime soon at all. about the most important tv spec to me right now is that it be 240Hz. Where does Darbee actually become beneficial?

I read Drummin's post about Crutchfield's 60 days and I really like the idea of that option, but they don't seem to offer the Darbee.

Got mine ordered today and according to the FedEx tracking information it will be in my hands on Wednesday. Can't wait! I ordered the 105D but it will mainly be used as a pre in my two channel system although I will have a Pany plasma connected to it too.
