See pic. I'll probably get to find out in person later this week, but there's a foreclosure house I'm checking out with a "$40k home theater"...

Can't place them myself, but part of the fun on this thread is that I can report back the final answer (and we can see how much the price on these got inflated).

My best guess is Madrid Audio or Dresden Acoustics!

How do you spend $40K on a home theatre and not have a theatre like in Zombieland?

After looking closer, I think they may be Bowers & Wilkinson...

    Or, maybe Pold Audio. ;-)

Well played, sir! If the cabinets turn out to be chromed plastic, you'll be the winner.

These people appear to have had more money than brains. Well, credit cards in this case. Installer charges aren't cheap, you pay MSRP on everything and your money doesn't go nearly as far. But yes, for $40k, I could do a hell of a lot better than pictured.

Nah, look at the shape. Gotta be Diff Tec... (Although the tweeter on top might suggest Boston & Wilkinson...)

Turns out that they're actually Bowers & Wilkins: XT4 towers, XTC center (and the matching surrounds might have been there at some point). Powered with a Rotel 1075+ Rotel 1068 prepro. So, even with MRSP and a healthy installation charge, that's still just $10k. People are so full of crap.

Maybe they included the price of the couch... and the hardwood floor... and the sheetrock... and the 12/2 wire in the walls... and the bay windows...and maybe, just maybe that's a Vidikron TV.

The thought crossed my mind, but it was all the original construction (there was an attic on the 3rd floor that was finished... but it wasn't wired). I think this is a simple case of some shiny speakers and heavy gear that someone wildly inflated the price on. I do have to wonder why they didn't take it with them, though... even at used prices, that's about $3k of gear sitting in an empty house. The owner could have walked off with it w/o the bank knowing.
