I never saw this one at the theatre or on VHS, DVD,Laserdisc, HD DVD, or even the earlier blu ray release. Sounds like this release has been upgraded quite a bit and highdefdigest gave it a good review. I've seen a few glimpses of this movie on YouTube and it looks like the original movie was pretty good looking considering it was filmed in 1993. The theme song " Original Sin" and video by Taylor Dayne is hot, definitely worth checking out.

You are talking about the movie with Alec Baldwin and Jone Lone? I remember the DTS-encoded laserdisc was the "go to" demo disc for early home theater.

Exactly Danny! I think a lot of folks here are too young to remember this movie, either because it wasn't that big of a draw at the box office in theatre or few people had a vested interest in home theatre equipment to have a laserdisc or dvd player etc... Shout supposedly has retouched this movie and made it look even better than the previous releases.

This movie may have been good for demo material, but really did no justice for The Shadow. It was a very poor attempt to bring the pulp hero to the big screen. The original novels in the pulps from the 30's and 40's were awesome reading. Unfortunately the movie didn't carry over the mystique of the character. Remember: "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!"
