Now that I will be going to 1080p, I noticed the cable I bought a while back only supports 1080i. I can't remember if it is 40 or 50 feet - will measure tonight. Any suggestions on a quality cable that I won't need a 2nd mortgage to purchase? I would like to stay below $100 unless I feel the extra money would be well worth it? Thanks.

You can always buy an active cable. It's a tad more on monoprice, and it makes the cable a LOT thinner.
    Main Surround -
    Epson 8350 Projector/ Elite Screens 120" / Pioneer Elite SC-35 / Sunfire Signature / Focal Chorus 716s / Focal Chorus CC / Polk MC80 / Polk PSW150 sub

    Bedroom - Sharp Aquos 70" 650 / Pioneer SC-1222k / Polk RT-55 / Polk CS-250

    Den - Rotel RSP-1068 / Threshold CAS-2 / Boston VR-M60 / BDP-05FD

I always look at monoprice and that thin, active cable definately caught my eye. Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, with Sewell Direct? http://sewelldirect.com/Sewell-Premium-HDMI-Cable-50-ft.asp

It is interesting my current cable description online says the following:

This cable supports the following HDMI® features:

    • 720p/1080i Resolution - The Standard HDMI® Cable has sufficient bandwidth to transfer 720p/1080i video signals between 720p/1080i rated source and sink (display) devices.

However, when I run Blu-ray, the projector picks up the signal as 1080p/24. I am not sure I will need the "better" cable since 1080i will probably be the most I will send to the projector since cable is 1080i (max) and blu-ray is 1080/24. I can't think of anything I will run that will be bandwidth of 1080p/60 or higher.

One word: Redmere! That is the name of the active technology that was mentioned above. I have a Monoprice 40' Redmere Slim Series High Speed cables in my theater. I've had it installed for about 18 months or so with no problems. I highly recommend them over getting a non-active, large gauge wire cable. Even with Redmere, the cable is pretty substantial. I can't imagine anything larger fitting inside my mounting tube along with the power cable. It was a tight fit as is. The cable is well made.

This is the one (other sizes available up to 60').

Before you buy a new cable, try the old one first. If it works, great. If not, then look at a new cable... A Blu-ray player native movie output is 1080P/24... Concert video blu-rays are usually 1080i/60... Check that as well.

What jon s said, exactly. Even if the cable wasn't necessarily spec'd for it, it may well pass the 1080p signal with no issues. Only way to find out is to hook it up before you go running it in-wall or anything. HDMI signals either get there intact or show obvious signs that they're not (green speckles or picture dropouts), so if you hook it up and don't see a problem, that cable should be just fine. Just make sure you try it with multiple resolutions to ensure it's up to the task.

If you're concerned about a long run, the Redmere cables are a way to go. The only down side to them is that, in my experience, they can slow down a display locking onto the signal with changes in resolution/inputs... but that's a very minor niggle.
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector

I second billbillw's rec. I picked up a 50' Monoprice redmere cable for $60 on Amazon 3 months ago. It's been carrying a 1080p/60 signal no problem.
