Anthem PRE2L

When I get bored I need change. Not necessarily a good thing for me but will be for someone else. I want to sell this to a Polkie who will enjoy it as much as I did and share his/her opinions with all of us. This Anthem PRE2L has been modified/upgraded which has been well documented here. Do a search and read the many comments from well respected guys here and you'll understand just how good a pre-amp this is.
I have the original tubes and some RCA's but........I forget right now which other tube are stored away but they can no way compare to the Mullard's and Mazda's.
Comes with remote, a Signal Cable power cord, the original box that the glove, tubes and stock power cable came in. I do not have the original box/packaging! There is one of eighteen screws missing that hold the cover to the frame. I think its at my home in NJ and LOL and that's where it will stay!
Condition of the PRE2L is very good I'd say a 6 on the Audiogon scale since the screw is missing and it's age. I do not see any scratches just slight wear on the screw heads from removing and reinstalling the screws.

Currently have two NOS Mullard tubes and two NOS Mazda tubes installed, click below on TUBES RULE for more information. I paid about $100.00 each and was money well spent.

Applied Dynamat to appropriate areas

Replaced the stock caps with DynamiCaps

Four Herbie dampers for the four tubes

Please look at the attachments for more information

I am thinking $700.00 plus freight or if you are somewhere between NYC and Boston we could meet for the transaction.

This will be sold to a Polk member unless somehow some way someone from outside our community can change my mind!!

Thanks and feel free to ask me anything about the Anthem PRE2L

    Beautiful

What a nice way to start the day!!

Eric, You will be more than pleased.

FYI Doro told me once upon a time that the front two tube effect the sound more than the rear tubes. I'm not sure which tube I prefer in the front but you can check it out yourself.
Do you want the stock power cord? I am sending the Signal Cable PC with the unit.

    Thanks Eric

Nothing like a hot rod preamp, Anthem makes super great gear. I love my Anthem stuff because it all has that lovely top end with no brightness and tight bass.

Yep I thought about that when I saw this FS, only reason I would buy this is to sell it so thats why I passed on this one.

That's one of the reasons why I said that I was going to sell it to a good Polkie and that's what happened. If I wanted to sell it for the maximum amount I would have gone elsewhere to sell it, obviously.

What's in the family stays in the family.

It's funny to me that I am excited for Conrad/Eric to have this pre-amp. Your 2.3's will love it

Nice pre. I wouldn't mind owning one again when I have more time and money to dedicate to 2 channel.

I don't know about being a great forum member but sure like the idea of keeping a nice piece of equipment in the family and I am far from the first to think that way. But thanks for your kind words.

I hope this gets marked as sold one day.

Eric is a great guy and was also a pleasure to deal with. I can't wait to read about your thoughts on your new pre-amp and all the extras!!

I'll keep my eyes on the 2 channel section.
