I was watching TECH TOYS 360 on tv and there was a segment on this Steinway -Lyndorf sound system. Claiming that even the most accomplished pianist could not tell the difference between the live playing of a piano and then hearing it through this system. Evidently it's all digitally based and what Lyndorf said towards the end of the segment was that if reproduction was digital until it reached the drivers then goes analog. For $150k it should be as real real can get.

Managing the signal in the digital domain until the final output stage can be very good if implemented well.
