I am looking at a couple different projectors and would like your opinions.

1. Mitsubishi HC7900
2. Optoma HC8200

Not into 3D (yet). Both have the throw I need. It will be in a dedicated theater room - ambient light is not an issue.

Thanks.

Are you limited to only those 2? I purchased an Optoma HD131Xe for my home theater along with an Elite Screen and I am blown away with how great of a picture I am getting out of it. I am running it with an Onkyo 818 and Polk Monitor 70s for Front, 60s for rear and a CS2 for Center along with PSW505 for sub. The Optoma I listed is cheaper than the one your looking at but its also 3D. Overall I really LOVE my Optoma and would buy another in a heartbeat. I use to own a Mitsubishi 65" DLP TV so I would bet the Mitsubishi will look nice too but I think my Optoma on a 125" screen looks better than my DLP TV.

The above link is the one I Purchased. You could also look at the HD25s as well

Not familiar with those particular pj's, but either would probably work well.

You may have already done plenty of research and narrowed it down to those models, but if not you might also check out Epson and Benq. Both are good brands that can be had for about a grand or less.

I have done quite a bit of research online but know it does not always tell the whole story. The Optoma was about $5000 3 years ago and the Mits was about $2500 last year - now I see both for about $800. Seems like pretty good deal on both just checking if anyone here has had any encounters with either.

I don't see the 5030 in the $800 range. I do see the Epson 8350 and it is much closer to my budget. I would like to wait but the Super Bowl is in 2 weeks and I doubt they will postpone it for me. :(
