I really do not understand why some of you have such a hard time posting photos.
If you have the site in "test" view (the blue/grey background), there is a simple "Image" icon. Click it and select a photo from your computer or from a web source. Then click Upload. Simple.

****The Key is to have this website in "Test" view, selected in the lower left corner of the page. We USED to have this functionality before the big crash a few months ago, but since the update, we lost it unless in "Test" view, which also add smileys, widescreen, and a host of other features that should be standard, but are missing from the Red/Grey version. ****

Now you tell me.Your way might or might not work for me as per site my pix were to big to upload. This was not the case early last year. This took about 15 steps to get this far.I will try for sure your way. There are some annoying things which I don't know if it happens to you but I could not preview the pix before putting them out and the pictures used to show up in the select file boxes and they just have boxes before and after uploading.I don't know what happend but it was never this bad as some have seen my privious pix done w/ease. Another fact when E-Mailing pix come through w/ one step hitting browse.I sent Trey some shots and he and some friends got them. Granted I'm not good at this but it was easier some time ago.

No doubt, everything was easier before the crash. I still prefer to host my photos at Photobucket or someplace similar and then you just use Photobucket to generate links. Copy and paste the links in and your done. Polk doesn't have to host them.

I use the IMG Links that Photobucket provides. It is much quicker than clicking on the Image Icon for each image.

Sorry, Don't mean to pollute your thread, but I feel that it may be helpful for others who have problems getting photos up.
Here is what I feel is the fastest, easiest way to put photos up here (or at any forum).

Take a couple minutes to setup a Photobucket account (or whichever photo site floats your boat) and upload the photos to an Album. Sometimes there are privacy options (public, secure, etc.) Basically the secure ones will keep others from snooping around your album and they can only see the linked photos. I prefer this way.

There is often a setting that will automatically shrink your photos while uploading, but I prefer to resize my photos before uploading because it is faster. Windows Live Photo Gallery is the easiest way I've found to resize multiple photos in one action. Just select multiple photos from Gallery View by holding the CTRL key, then clicking the desired photos. Then click Edit and Resize. It will resize (in a separate file) very quickly. Anything between 800 pixels and 1280 pixels will generally look good on a website and not be too big.

When in Photobucket, you can select multiple photos by clicking first on the "organize' tab. Then press CTRL and select the desired photos you want to link. After selecting all the photos, near the bottom, you click on the Link Button that looks like a chain. It will open a new window. Click and copy the text that is in the box next to IMG Codes and paste them into whatever forum you are posting in.

    Hope this helps.

When uploaing pics here, size matters too. ~ 512kb max, or something near that.

    Nice puppy! With img tags....[img][/img]

Bill, your the 1st person to actually say the site crashed and something happened.I know I'm not good at this but damn it was never this complicated.I will try your way under test my only fear is my pix are to big for whatever reason and I will have to resize them anyway.Steal my thread,be my guest this has been such a nightmare for me and anything that will simplify this will be well appreciated. Just keep in mind that I did not grow up w/ the machine so most of what your saying is just flying by. I will look into Photobucket if you say that's it's easier to do w/ them.

If you do not have a decent photo browsing software installed (like Photoshop Elements or , get Windows Live Essentials Photo Gallery. Its free and it makes resizing photos a one step process (for as many as you can click). With the huge megapixel size of most cameras these days (even smartphones), it is a waste to try and upload the full size file. Resolution beyond 2 Megapixel is not needed for a computer screen.

If you are anti-Microsoft, another free software is called FastStone Image Viewer. It gets good reviews.

    I re-size photos in Paint

I just make a 2nd copy so I don't lose original, right click on the image file and "open with paint",
    select resize in tool bar,
    check the pixel box,
    enter 640 in horizontal,
vertical will auto calculate around 480

Then file, save as JPEG etc

Almost any photo software has a resize feature, I've just found that the Window Photo Gallery is the easiest. It automatically saves it as a copy and renames it with the photo size so its easily identified. It is basically a one click operation for multiple photos (once you select them in the gallery/browse view).

Bill I just tried it your way.As I suspected my pix are to big and need to adjusted anyway.Hitting the image icon would work wonders if my camera was set right at the time. I have since reset it and will retry w/ new pix at some later date. Thanks for the try.
