securing fabric on 1Cs

I picked up some 1Cs. The fabric is in good shape except it is loose in several spots along the back edge. I was able to tuck it in with the blade of a small screw driver. It looks good but it is still loose. I was thinking I could tape off each side of the seam and run a very thin bead of black silicone alone the seam to keep the cloth secure. I figure it would keep the cloth in place and would be relatively easy to remove if I ever need to replace the cloth or panel.
Does this sound like a good idea? What are the pros and cons of doing this?

I have had the same situation. To fix it properly, you can easily pry off the side panels with a putty knife. You'll see the panels were glued with an "S" pattern bead and usually some around the edges. I use hot glue or spray adhesive you can get for upholstery work in cars or at a craft store. Secure it all back nicely then I've used Liquid Nails in a tube and my caulk gun to follow the same kink of S glue pattern, but scrape off the old crap first with a putty knife. The panels are large and not always true flat, so I've used some boards horizontally on top and bottom and in the middle it needed with bar clamps to tighten down over night. Remove in the morning and it should look like new. I also clean the fabric with some spray cleaner and shop vac so it looks new and smells nice. Excellent results every time. Hope this was helpful.
