Polk Momo MMC 650 versus new MM6501

Hi everyone,

I just joined up to try and learn more about my Polks. I had a set of Polk Momo MMC650's, brand new in the box,
hanging around, that I bought on a good deal from Crutchfield about 6 years ago. I just bought a new Victory Cross Country
Tour motorcycle, so I figured I'd throw the Momos in the front fairing. A lot of guys with the Vics have been upgrading the
sound systems on their bikes, so I thought why not. Well the speakers led to an amp, a JL Audio XD400/4, and Polk MM5251 rear speakers for the tour pack. Well I really dislike the Momos. I have tried tuning the frequency, but unless I crank up the bass
and treble on the head unit, they speakers sound very tinny, especially compared to the little 5251's, which granted are mounted in the tour pack, which gives them a better enclosure for sure. The 5251's need no bass or treble added, I can leave the settings on the head unit flat I tried putting baffles on the momos, but that seemed worse. The speakers all sound pretty good together, but when I unplug the tour pack to ride without it, or fade it to the front speakers only, it just sounds really crappy unless I crank up the head unit's bass and treble, which of course screws up the 5251s. So I'm thinking of going to the MM6501s for the front now, and dumping the Momos.

Thoughts!?!?
