Subwoofer (until U$200) with my 4 x TSi100 and CS10

Hello,

I'm buying 4 TSi100 and a CS10. But I still don't know wich subwoofer to buy. I only have U$ 200 more and I like good bass. Can you recommend me one good subwoofer?

I'm think about the BIC America V1020. By the way.. I only have a 15 inches space to place the subwoofer.

Thanks In Advance

Hello and welcome to CP! You are very limited with that budget, but the BIC would be a fine fit. (Within that price range) You always have the option to save up a few hundred more and get one that will do you justice for a long time, look at the entry level offerings from Outlaw, SVS and HSU. It took me two subs to realize this, and I haven't wanted to upgrade since I bought the third. Just remember, as with all things, if you buy cheep you'll end up buying twice.

Good luck I hope this helps.

    Thanks for the reply...

I understand that a cheap sw can break (probably?) faster than a nice and more expensive... But I'm also buying speakers and because of that my money to Home Theater is gone... I should wait to buy a nice sw later.. but I don't have any patience to use my speakers without any sub for such a long time...

I also have a limited space... The sub can have only 15 inches of height... And I have just seen that the V1020 has more than 16 in. So it's gone. I have think antoher one...

My first option was the BIC F12, which is even bigger. That I saw here: http://home-subwoofers-review.toptenreviews.com/

By the way.. What do you think about this ranking? Do you agree? Anyway, I have to find another one that fits my furniture.. could you suggest one?

    Thanks in advance!

The BIC sub is passable. But for $200 you should really be looking at the BIC Formula F12:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Macr8u9kTwU

It is 15" WIDE but taller than that. So you need the width but should have MORE HEIGHT available?

Another $200 or so sub that is decent is the old Polk PSW505, enough bottom to fill out your Polk bookies in a smaller to smaller mid-sized room!

If you listen to everything "we" suggest your wallet will be "empty" all too soon! lol

15" in all THREE dimensions? Where are/how are you trying to fit it. Because for 200 the BIC F12 does a lot!

The BIC you mention has the SAME 15" width, so where is the problem? Height (which is also similar for the two subs or depth, where the 1020 is only 13"?)?

15''in Height and Width... Depth can be bigger.

    According with the BIC site ( http://www.bicamerica.com/showpage.php?brand=2&type=8&spkrID=84 ) the Dimensions of the BIC F-12 are: 17"H x 14 3/4"W x 17 1/4"D

Well then the V1020 won't work either because it is 16 1/2" High?

A Dayton Audio SUB-1000 would work but I'm not sure how "good" such a sub is? It's certainly CHEAP!

Or maybe the Polk PSW110. Not the best sub, but OK for the money on Polk's ebay site?

Do you think DSWPRO440wi (U$ 215 - Ebay) is a good sw? Better than PSW110?

I'm not from US. I'm from Brazil. But to buy here is way more expensive. And I will be in Orlando in May for 4 days. So I will buy one sw and bring here.

The Polk 440 is a nice little sub. Should be fine for your purposes, but you would need to get it shipped to someone in the U.S., I would imagine? Being a little smaller than the 110 but a little more powerful also makes it a better all around sub for both "music" and "movies"! If you can get it at the price above, go ahead!

Yes.. On ebay the DSW440 has a great price.. but it's refurbished.. I'm a little afraid to buy this way.. considering that when I bring it to Brazil, I will lose warranty.
