Hello Club Polk and good evening to you. I just ran across this on another forum I frequent and I thought I would share it here. It seems more like an unfortunate reality but it had me chuckling many times throughout. When you get 6 minutes of spare time, check this video out. I about LOST it a couple of times......still laughing as I type this. If you are a fan of Bose, please do not even bother watching. You simply will not get it.

That's too funny, and everytime I see a Bose store in the shopping centers they are always packed. At least they have the marketing down pat.

Yeah but try and sell them used....nobody wants them. I have a 10, 5 double cubes and a sub that I seemingly can't give away. Seriously, have it on Craigslist for 3 bones....no takers.

I enjoyed it and am a Bose fan.

I do not own any Bose products but think highly of their marketing ability.

One day when the timing is right I'll buy a pair of 901's

Where are the Bose products manufactured today? Hopefully in the US but I won't be surprised to here somewhere over the boarder.

I spent a lifetime in sales and marketing and feel for that salesman in the video LMAO It can be frustrating

Really funny stuff there, amusingly "real" for an animation. Also agree with NJ Polker about BOSE marketing and I think this vid "validates" that opinion if not "your parking"? lol

I used to own an acoustimass 10, I thought they were wonderful but when I heard the polks oh man I was amazed so I sold the bose and started buying polks only, however the bose are good when you have limited space and the wife will not be complaining about it.

You are going about it the wrong way. Donate them to GW. They sell like hotcakes on the goodwill site.

I'm not sure about the re-sale comments; I owned a pair of Bose 901 VI's, that I sold after 14yrs of service for $100 less than I paid for them in 1988.

the 901's would be fun to try out if I had the space, stands, and EQ. I wasn't joking about the going like hotcakes on the GW site. They are best sellers for some reason or another. I wouldn't want Bose war and have no dog in the fight.

Setup is KEY and plenty of POWER. It's far better to run the EQ in a "EQ loop" type circuit off the preamp, than to connect it between the preamp and amp.

I've heard a set of 901s properly set up and with "enough" power go head to head with a pair of JBL L100Ts (pretty big 12" three ways that are quite good in their own way) years ago. BOTH filled up the room with no problem whatsoever and though the bass on the JBL had just a bit more "weight" the 901s hung in there with those 9 tiny drivers pumping together. A pretty "spacious" sound, not the best imaging or soundstage but they could "ROCK" quite well! I'd definitely play around with a set if they came "my" way!

The 901's are the exception to the rule in Bose's case. Those are probably the most sought after Bose speaker....ever.

My dad has a pair of Interaudio 4000XL's picked up in the early 90's for about $300 IIRC. It's a 2 way design with 10" woofers and 3" cone tweeter/mid. They aren't that bad, but definitely not as detailed as the Polk's I have owned.

He's moving in a few months and I will be inheriting them. I may perhaps try to mod them just to play around. They have a little bit of sentimental value since they are the dad's stereo equipment that is passed down. So please no one suggest target practice for these.

Agreed, and I would play with a pair if a set was to come my way as well. Outside of that I have no problems in owning a car that comes with a Bose set-up, personally I think they are one of the better systems to come in a car when buying one..

Not everything Bose put out was shall I say.....*keeps mouth shut*. The 901's and some sort of new Bose headphone that is highly praised, no matter the audio community, come to mind. The rest? Well, that's what makes the video so funny to me. A marketing machine at its best for the typical consumer.

My first Polk speakers were SDA's. At the time you could listen to Bose 901's next to the SDA's. No comparison. I bought the Polks and have stuck with Polk since.
