Definitive BP20's, Specs? and how best to use in my new Home Theatre?
Hello, Everyone.
I was given a pair of Definitive BP20 speakers which sound great! But I know nothing about them. I'm guessing the BP stands for Bipole? Is this the same as Dipole speakers? They have High and low
inputs underneath, and I was just wondering if anyone had or new specs on these speakers? As well as how to best use them in my home theatre. I am just thinking as my front mains. My collection of random home theatre stuff is as follows..
Reciever = TX-SR607 ONKYO
2x Definitive BP20 Speakers
2x BOSE 601 IV short tower speakers http://worldwide.bose.com/productsupport/en_us/web/601_series4/page.html#tab=manuals_tab
2x Small Bose rear wall mount surround speakers
1x BOSE center speaker
1x POLK PSW110 Subwoofer.
I am installing a 120" diagonal projector screen and Optima HD25E 1080P 3D projector in my man cave next week, and wanted to get to setting up these speakers in the best manner possible. The room is 17'x13'x8'.
-I was thinking of using the tall BP20 towers as my main front speakers. Connecting the Low speaker Terminal to the "Front Speaker" receiver terminal, and then the High speaker Terminal to the FRONT HIGH terminal on the receiver.
-The Bose 601 IV as Surround LEFT and Surround RIGHT speakers. (these will set to the left and right of my couch against the wall about 2-3 feet away.
-Then the two small wall mounted Bose speakers as the surround Rear-back speakers.
-Then there's obviously the center and Subwoofer.
This should all work right?
Thanks,

Toss all the Bose speakers and upgrade to some better matching speakers for the BP20s. You're going to hear a world of difference. I've had many Bose speakers when I was younger and simply did not know what I was doing. The rest looks fine and you can always upgrade from there.Main Surround -

Bose 601's are not that bad. 601 and 901 are the only two Bose models that have decent sound.
But, BP20's are way better speakers and you really need to match fronts and center so get a Definitive center.
For surrounds, it is not as critical as front and center but still it's better to get same tone/sound on surrounds.
I cycle similar setup sometimes with BP10 as fronts, Mythos seven or C-1 as center and BP-2 dipoles as surrounds but currently Klipsch is what I have running.
Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk.
Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.
