RUN, RUN, RUN. Upgraded caps, tweets, etc....if as described, $500 less than I paid for my 1.2tl's before mods. You won't be disappointed. Do look them over very closely and ask for specifics on the XO's.

JayCee, how is the bass output on these? I can only imagine the mids and highs from stock units.

Very good...you won't need a sub. If properly set up they can hit you in the chest. But, they are big and do need space to breath. 6' apart or more and at least 3-4' from any corner. Small rooms tend to bloat the bass and muddy the mids.

The tweeters are RDO-198's, and the XO's are Sonicaps, and mills resistors, and are 1.2tl upgraded... A $1000 is a steal...

Looking at them on Google raises another question, how power hungry are they?

Deal with power later.... grab them. That's $400 alone saved in upgrading tweeters, not to mention all the crossover work. You're getting a $12-1500 speaker for under $600 bones and you don't have the headache of doing the work yourself.

Unless I am missing it, the list price is 1k, so either I am illiterate (likely) or he raised his price..

Unmodded ones go for 1.2 to 1.5k from everything I've seen. Getting these for $1k is equivalent to getting a stock pair for under $600.

    Gotcha.

Well I was informed by the warden late last night that if I bring another set of speakers into the house before selling some I will have to move my clothes out. I have 2 Polk setups and a complete Paradigm setup, and the Paradigm is sitting in a spare room not being used. So that being said, Unfortunately I am not going to be able to pick these up at the moment if anyone else is in Florida and wants them!
