Hey y'all!

New to the forum and piecing together an ht system right now. I currently have a pioneer vsx40 that I purchased a few years back and I also just purchased two monitor 70s and a cs2. The pio elite only puts out 80 wrms, so I'm looking to get a good amp for cheap that is going to get these speakers bumping. I have someone willing to sell me a used UPA-2 for just at $200 or should I look for more power then that. I really don't want to break $300 for an amp so let me know what you guys think

Not sure if your AVR has preouts or not to add an amp. If not you will need a pre amp as well. Look for high current amps like parasound, adcom, b&k or rotel. 100 wpc should get them running nicely. Another choice is a more powerful AVR. Older pio elite sc models can be had fairly reasonably now. Welcome!

It does have pre amp outs. The UPA-2 puts out 125 per ch which I think should be efficient

I'm somewhat partial to the Adcom GFA-555(due to that being what I'm using). REALLY depends on budget and possibly a brand preference at this point. The Emo should suffice though.

Adcom GFA-555 for power(being reborn, as I can afford it)

125 watts is a pretty fair amount of power. My 70's are only getting 100 wpc from an old Carver amp but for me that's enough to do them justice. The only issue may be that you will still need something to pwer the CS2.
