I have an SVS PB12 Plus 2, way more than enough to fill a room that size, but it comes with a hefty size, and price.

Assuming you have 9' ceilings that's 1800 cu.ft. so whats your budget?

OK now you have approx 1300 cu.ft.

Go to Velodyne's website they have a calculator and a line of suggestions fitting the room. That way you can get an idea how to fill the room with bass.

We still need a budget. Also don't forget buying on the used market or from Polk's EBay site.

Thanks for the info and links. My budget is around $500 which I know will not get me anything high end.

If you look used you can score some decent deals on subs. I lucked up and found my current SVS for $275, I still see the same model sub selling from $700 and up. It was literally in brand new condition. I live in central Florida and there are good deals in Velodyne, Sunfire, and other good sub makers. Just scour Craigslist in your area if you decide to buy used, deals do pop up.

Where are you located? Craigslist is usually the best bet depending on where you're at.

If you are running this for home theater your sub and center channel are the most important investment.

When at all possible take your time shopping.=, deals are always to be had. That being said if I was in a hurry for an HT setup looking for subs, I probably buy a pair of the PSW125's off Polk ebay site.

Just to show the deals that can be found, this is the sub I bought 2 years ago in black for $275. I found it local on Craigslist for $500, I offered less and he accepted. If your not in a huge rush do some homework and find a deal.

Theres a PB12 plus 2 in Austin for $650 that's been on for a while, I was eyeing it but don't need any more subs.

It is a hefty sub, I have the ports firing in a corner and when its pounding hard it feels and sounds like it just before damaging the drywall. I had spotted another one in Atlanta but it sold before I could make an offer and it was listed at $700. I almost felt bad paying so little for mine, but smiled all the way home (still smile every time I hear it).

A HSU VTF-2 would probably fit the bill. Should be enough to filll that space (though bigger is always better). Mine has no trouble shaking the walls in my 14x18 room. A little bit over your budget but you could always save a bit longer and go for it.

SVS PB-1000 would likely get the job done as well.

Great deal, I was so close to buying one about 2 years ago. The guy had an SVS pb-12 for $300 which is a steal, and wanted $600 for his Pb12 plus 2 but at the time I couldn't justify spending double. Maul78 keep a lookout and i'm sure anyone on here will be able to advise you about a specific sub and model, you can get a good used sub for that price if you're patient.
