CD Palyer question

Is there any advantage in using a regular CD player instead of a DVD player to play CDs?
I have an Onkyo CD Player and a Toshiba DVD player, and I need to make some room on my audio shelf, wondering if I can lose the Onkyo without losing any sound quality?
Thanks

well i used to think my Toshiba DVD player did fine with CD's to. that was till i got a dedicated CD player. yeah there isn't a day and night difference. but it does sound better than the DVD player did.
what Onkyo CD player do you have? Is it high end, mid, low end? if it's low end... i'd say.. dump it. mid to high end.. keep it. can you tell the difference in quality when you play a CD in the DVD player as opposed to the CD player?PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I have the Onkyo DX-C380, not sure what range it falls in, but I would guess low end because I only gave $99 for it.
I can't tell much of a difference, but I'm still trying to get the accoustics of the room down... -
I would say.. take it out of your system. if you can't hear much difference between the two.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I do agree, however, that you just need to listen and make your own decisionLudicrous gibs!
