Hi all... Long time lurker first time poster...

I recently picked up a set of sda2 (first Gen with side by side tweeters and fuses on the back) that I rebuilt the crossovers in and made a new interconnect cable for (they didn't come with one when I bought them)

Anyhow... I'm currently running them off of my Kenwood nine G (about 120wpc at 4ohm...maybe)
Obviously from what I've been reading I need more power (cue toolman grunt)

I have my eye on a Carver pm350 (yes I've read the differing opinions on pro amps vs home Hi-fi amps) but I don't know if it's "common ground"...
If it's not I'm obviously not interested and it's a little far away (I've got an old suburban and gas is expensive) to just "go look"

Anybody have one of these guys that could check for me?

Thanks in advance.... Scott

Ask what the continuity/ohm's is on the negative speaker terminals. If low to zero it should be common ground, If higher it is not. Some amps you can strap the negatives together to make common ground BUT DO NOT DO THIS if not sure. You can also go to Carver 4m to ask the would know for sure. Some of his home models were not (M500 come to mind)

Thanks for your reply... Yeah I knew about testing it with a meter...
I asked the seller to do that for me and the reply I got back from him just now is "I don't have time to do all that... Either you want it or you don't"
So I'm leaning towards this isn't someone I want to deal with anyhow..

I think for now I'm just going to keep running them off of my Kenwood and try to put together a little more money and search for another tfm 25,35 or 45..

I've owned several of these before and remember being quite pleased and according to my research around here they'll do justice to my SDAs
