Wyred 4 Sound amps work fine with WBT spades. You may need to unscrew the binding post as far as it will go and slide the wire and spade through the slot on the bottom.

Doesn't MIT have adapters for such occasions? Jeez you'd think with all the $$$$$ you spent on them they would send a guy right out with them..

The MIT's cannot unscrew to let you swap the termination as they are standard spade to spade unless specially ordered. I did unscreew the w4s as far as but those mit spades are just to wide to get both ends in. Thats why I am thinking if the sound will be degraded if I just put the one side in and fasten it tight.

As long as one fork of the spade is seated flush, that should be enough contact area.

You can CAREFULLY pinch the spade ends towards each other to make the space smaller. In your case, I would get a bolt the same diameter of the binding post, put the spade over the bolt and then pinch the spade ends. That way you, hopefully, won't pinch them in too far.

That sounds like audio black jack and knowing me I will go bust after too many pinches.

Yeah ok. I'd do it for you if we were closer, it's really not difficult.

Have you talked with MIT about changing the ends to banana plugs?

I contacted Joe and just asked if they could be swapped out easily and he told me that they come terminated that way and cannot be easily changed. I think I just need to get new amps that will take the spade, those spades are really thick metal.

I never knew such an adapter was available, would these take anything away from the MIT's? They look like a great part time solution.

    ^ ^ ^ +1

This will work, but be sure the pos and neg spade forks that are outside of the bp don't touch. This would be pretty difficult to accidentally do, but . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I would just get some coat hanger wire and wrap it around the MIT spade and then stick it under the amp binding post. Seriously, it will make those MIT cables sound much better. You do have to make sure you scrape all the paint off the coat hanger wire. It tends to put a veil over the lower mid-range if you leave the paint on the wire.

Don't you just hate those "intelligence tests" where they give you square pegs but round holes to fit them into? Just buying high end cables with prestigious Engineering University names is not ENOUGH. You also need a Ph.D. from a TOP TEN American University to KNOW how to use them properly. Not all of us have one of those. (Actually, some of "us", do!). lol

Love the Wheaton Facepalm! Come to think of it Wheaton College is a pretty good school too!

How about a Polk "low end system" thread? They have those on AK, i.e., what's the lowest cost system you can put together that will not embarrass you with its sonic performance? Now THAT would be a good "value"!
