preamp/amp question

there is a hybrid tube pre I'm interested in, a Vincent sa-31. for whatever reason, it does not have a balance control. my amp is
a parasound hca-1200, which has input level controls for each channel. it would seem the input level contols on the amp could
be used to control speaker balance. correct---or not? thanks.

Controlling the gain is more or less what the balance control is doing, if I'm not mistaken. Aren't the gains on the back though? That'd make it kind of a pain to adjust.Monitor 12's-RDO's and XO's done!

the input level controls control the input volume for each channel. on the hca-1200, they are on the front. you normally use them in conjunction with the volume control on the preamp."The symbol is not the reality"

Why do you need a balance control?Political Correctness'.........defined

Why do you need a balance control?
I need to accent the right channel a bit due to the set-up. not the end of the world in any event; just would be nice."The symbol is not the reality"
