Get the bass right in your HT. I found that this helped out more in my previous HT than it does in my current setup, thus the reason for letting it go. I listed it once before, but it obviously didn't sell.

Unit is in great shape. All accessories included. Original boxes for shipping. I'll throw in the Outlaw Audio guide for setting it up (it's available online, but I've already got it copied).

$275 shipped CONUS seems like a pretty good price.

Local (DFW) price is a little lower.

Great price on a great unit. I used one for many years, and miss it. The ability to increase/decrease bass volume with a remote is a really nice feature - worth the price of the unit!

Fella's this and the Antimode 8033 are GREAT units if you have an older AVR w/o sub EQ, or if you have MCACC as its not accurate as low as this unit is..

There is really only one AVR EQ that can properly manage bass (incl. multiple subs) - Audyssey MultiEQ XT32. I have a receiver with MultiEQ XT (not 32) and it does a horrible job with bass management. SMS-1 made a HUGE difference in my case.

One other cool thing about this unit is the fact that you can do changes on the fly, and see how those changes impact the subwoofer frequency response at your room via the SMS-1 FR graph at your TV or projector screen.

This thing is gonna end up back in my HT if someone doesn't buy it soon...which won't really be all bad.

The R-972 with Trinnov does an amazing job at EQing sub(s). I have a pair of Micropro 4000's and
Trinnov adjusted the EQ down at 18hz. Not sure Audyssey corrects EQ that low.

Don't want to start a discussion here, but I do not believe Trinnov does *individual* calibration of each sub.

Unfortunately, I've got two pair of speakers I'm trying to get rid of.

Honestly, slim chance a trade will work because I'm actually in "sell" mode, instead of "buy" mode. Thanks though!

Congrats on the sale Paul, someone got a sweet deal on a nice little sub eq unit. I really like how you can adjust it in real time and see the graph on the tv screen.

Question...how do you plan to implement this unit in your system with two subs? It will only do one curve correct? Or, the better question is where are your subs positioned?

Looks like he has 2 Epik Legend subs. If the setup is anything like my 8033 , you can sum the subs with a y connector .

I was just wondering if his sub's were in different locations like sub 1in the left front corner and sub 2 behind the right rear side of the couch. If so, it would be tough for one eq curve to resolve/correct both, right? Or would it still work with the mic at the listening position correcting the sum of the two sub's? Maybe the results will be better than no eq at all?

The SMS-1 has capability to connect three subs, so no need for a Y adapter, which is what I'm using now to split the signal to two subs. One sub is currently in the front right corner, the other is next to the rear row of seating on the right side also. In my setup, there is no wall on the left, pool table area and no rear wall, bar area. Not too many choices for sub placement. I know I have peaks and valleys in the bass response by using a Reives test disc and RS db meter. The SC07 MCACC does not correct for the bass, so Im hoping the SMS-1 can add enough equalizing control to help smooth out the bass response. Bass traps will also be needed eventually and is on the wanted list. I know the SMS-1 does not separately adjust each sub, but looking to see what it can do. I may move the back right sub to front left and try that location also. I'm looking forward to having fun testing a lot of sub locations, mic locations, and other adjustments. If for some reason it doesn't help, look for it in the FS forum......

Ok, I see...that is what I was wondering. Even with one curve you never know what it will do unless you try it.

It is "one curve", because it does total room response. Like already mentioned, SMS-1 has 3 sub outputs, so no need to worry about Y-adapters. Made a huge difference in my case vs. any AVR, except pretty much for XT32 equipped AVRs.

Yeah, I have been researching solutions and considered this unit (Great price this sold for!) as well as the Antimode. However, XT32 is something I wanted to to since it came out. So, the plan is to abandon the Pioneer Elite unit in favor of the Onkyo 818. At some point I still plan to try the MiniDSP....especially if XT32 does not work out....but I plan to really play with it and learn it so we will see. Only one sub for now but would like to up the learning curve by the time I crave and have space for a second.

OK, I will shut up....this post is dead/sold!
