Foobar vs JRiver on Random Play

I am a foobar user, but I have a question for you J River guys. My metadata file is at the bottom each song list. The only problem I have with foobar is that when I choose "random" play, it inevitably tries to play this file and that stops the music. Foobar is not reading this file as a music file, of course, and this stops the sound. I wished foobar knew to skip over this file on "random" play. Just curious how J River works when "random" play is selected?

I don't see random play in J River. You can add music by songs or entire albums to "playing now" list. I have never had it stop. Shuffled the list several times still keeps on ticking.

    Hope that helps

I've never had JRiver attempt to play a meta data file before.

FWIW, I don't think JRiver has a traditional "random play" option, but it does have a "Play Doctor" setting that picks random tracks based on parameters that you assign.

Ok everybody, thanks for the input. I just found out that foobar has a feature called "exclude file". The metadata file is a jpeg file soyou can tell foobar to exclude all jpeg files. Works like a charm. I think that you can also use the "exclude file" feature to exclude certain tracks during songlist playback without erasing them. Random play is a feature I do like when the song list becomes too predictable.
