Hermitism, dude...that's just WRONG ! wrong wrong wrong wrong WRONG !

    I think someone's off his meds here...lol

    I say "NO" to drugs!

Have you learned nothing from this thread? http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?157101-Colorado-residents-Fess-up

The state of Colorado is on it's way to becoming a land filled with lazy, pyromaniacal, weed smoking thieves. Over two hundred years ago England started sending their prisoners and riffraff to Australia. Colorado is becoming USA's Australia. Soon we'll have to build barriers on the state's borders to keep the disreputable people from moving out beyond the state. The barriers we build will be liken to the Berlin Wall. I just hope the powers that be have enough sense to make the entire state a no-fly-zone. Can you imagine if Air Force One would fly over the state of Colorado and have a system malfunction and have to land somewhere? We'd have to hire Snake Plissken to rescue the President. It will be total kaos. I just hope Kurt Russell has his eye patch handy!

If you want to be accepted by your peers, light up a cigarette and pour yourself a drink. Nothing spells success like a Cuban cigar and a bottle of aged cognac! Wait, aren't Cuban cigars illegal in the USA? Damn, I've failed again.

I guess there is always hope...Australia turned out okay.

Coming soon to a theater near you...

The final chapter in the Escape From New York trilogy...

    Escape From Colorado

Starring Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken

Also starring Tommy Chong as the evil leader of the Colorado Penal Colony

    In theaters this fall!

I had to put razor wire around it as Hermitism thought about stealing it...lol In any event, great amp for my RTiA7s, Literally obliterated the need for a subwoofer unless I've got a movie on. And even though the rig is mainly 2 channel, movies sound real good on it.
maaaaaan. that sounds nice. glad to hear someone's enjoying them for 2ch
curious - where do you have your tone settings for a typical listening session?

Hey, I'm still willing to trade my Sony VCR for it...and some "adult" VCR tapes.
haha VCR :D - I've still got one of those DVD Recorder/VCR Combos and a few tapes I wanted to convert. totally worth a Parasound HCA-1200II...

msg...isn't that the stuff they put in Chinese food? Hey, are you up for a road trip? Parasound HCA-3500. I was looking around on CL and found this in your state. I don't know anything about the different models Parasound makes or the appropriate used prices they bring, but I'm sure someone will chime in. Maybe he will come down on the price (asking $1550).

Hey man, I meant to get on here to answer this a while ago, but stuff got kinda crazy.

hehe, first, yes, msg like the additive
and yes! I saw that posting - it was the only one somewhat local to me. I'd tried to contact the guy a couple of times, but he was unresponsive. it would appear that he has since sold the amplifier.

I found one though, and it should arrive soon. In fact, as a matter of updating this thread, during the course of my research over the past couple of weeks I decided that I wanted to try the separates route, so I searched out a few options and end up with a Parasound Halo C2 from a nice seller on Audiogon, and a Parasound 2205A from a seller in CA. The amplifier is not in the best shape cosmetically (I really don't understand how this stuff gets scratched or dinged up, to be frank), but providing everything works properly, it should be a nice fit for the system I'm going for.

with my testing with some earlier B&K equipment, I'm pretty sure both of these Parasound pieces will get me to closer to satisfaction with the RTi10's, and my system in general. In fact, I've since picked up the CSi5 from the Polk Ebay store, as well, so I'm looking forward to getting everything hooked up and tested.

For the price he was asking, there are better deals to be had. I was hoping you'd be able to talk him down on the price. That was a mac daddy of an amp.

I bought my AVR used and had to drive to Cincinnati to get it. It didn't have a blemish on it. It was simply beautiful! It was about a two hour and twenty minute drive to get there. I've got a Miata (I'm not ****) that I rarely drive and it had nine month old gas sitting in it, so I decided to drive that to pick up my Pio, in order to use up the old fuel. As you know, it's not the largest car in the world. When I got there I ended up purchasing a Blu-ray player, as well. The AVR wouldn't fit in the trunk but the Blu-ray player did, so I went to put the AVR on the passenger side floorboard, which didn't fit there either, and a screw head under the dash pealed a 1/4 inch spot of black paint off the top of the lid. I'm really picky about stuff like that, I almost cried right there in the guy's driveway. Well, not really, but a yelled plenty of four letter words on the way home. Luckily it fit on the passenger seat. I was going to get some black paint to fill in the scratch, but learned that black paint is hard to come by around here (inside joke). So I took a sharpie marker and filled in the scratch to hide the silver aluminum. It can't be seen on the shelf but I still know it's there. Grrr. Right after it happened, I would have paid an extra fifty bucks just to go back in time sixty seconds to prevent that scratch. It sounds good though!

I'm glad you were able to find a Parasound amp. From what everyone says around here, it will pair well with your speakers.

hahaha, man, I hear it can do worse than that.

yeah, I thought it was pretty high, too. this is the kinda stuff I see around here. people are pretty proud of their stuff.

ahhhhhhhh!!! man, I was right there through that whole story!!! that's the worst!
haha, I laughed at the $50 to go back in time 60 seconds, haha. and the Miata qualifier, hehe. I have an old 87 626GT Turbo that was my first nice car that I got used third hand when I was in the military. spent a lot of time working on that thing over the years and keeping it up, and can't bring myself to get rid of it now. it's got some problems now, reliability questionable, never sees any road time, but I don't know, I keep thinking that one day I'll have the time to fix it up again. anyway, that's good stuff, little road trips. I'd make a 4hr drive if the deal were worthwhile.

thanks man, yeah, I hope it works out. this has been an intense few weeks with a lot of reading and trying to source gear and not get hosed (too badly) in the process.
