Another bi-wire ?

I was just reading another thread about bi wiring and got confused so I started this thread (forgive me) to re-ask a question in a different way. (was not sure if I should use other thread)

If I want to add another amp to my AV receiver to power my main speakers I take it I just use a interconnect cable to hook the front right & left pre-outs to the new amp, then use new amp to drive my main speakers (Rti a7's).

Since my speakers can be Bi-Amped is it possible to have the new amp drive my lower binding posts of the RTi a7's and the main right and left speaker outs from my AV receiver to drive the higher posts? or do but sets of posts need to have separate amps to drive them?

And what about just using bi-wire cables like the AQ rocket 33's hooked to a new amp to drive the speakers? how would each compare?

Thanks
Darryl

I'm not familiar with your receiver, but any that I'm aware of bypass the speaker jacks if you have connected another amp via the pre-amp outs. If you want to bi-wire, the best way is to purchase a set of bi-wire speaker cables. Bi-wiring is two sets of speaker wires to the same binding posts, or a set of bi-wire cables, which has one set of connections at the amp end and two sets of connections at the speaker end. You do not use two amps for bi-wiring. Bi-wiring and bi-amping are two distinctly different things.

As noted by classic carl, you can't do that.

    Thanks for the info :)

I understand now how Bi-wiring & Bi-amping are 2 different things, as I have seen some Bi-wire cables like the AQ rocket 33's. curious if you think cables like these are a improvement over a (standard cable + binding post jumpers) ?

my setup is NAD T-758 AV receiver. and I been wanting to and a amp to this to drive my main towers better, like maybe a Parasound 2250v2?

Also since the parasound 2250 has 2 set's of speakers out (A+B) can both be used to bi-amp my towers? though my main thought right now is just to add a amp to my setup to drive them better and bi-amping is just a after though.

    Thanks

My opinion.. Get a set of quality wires that fit your budget, bag the bi wires, replace the cheap brass jumpers with short lengths of decent wire and call it a day...

An improvement over generic zip cord? Yes. However, as Ken suggests above another choice is a single run of high quality cables along with replacement of the brass jumpers.

Also since the parasound 2250 has 2 set's of speakers out (A+B) can both be used to bi-amp my towers?

    That's not bi-amping.

    OK Agreed :)

I will just go with better cables and replace my brass jumpers. I did this in my other listening room with some Audio Quest type 4's from AA that came terminated with banana plugs. and they made a big difference for me when I also changed out my interconnects with some Kimber Cables and everything sort of started to burn in. Not sure what I will use for cables, but it will be something different this time.
