Anyone within driving distance to Indianapolis have these or the 1.2s for sale at a reasonable price? I have been wanting some for years and have decided it is my time to own some. Thanks!

Nothing a couple beers wont fix (at least temporarily).

Besides I would be there as well with a dolly or two

So Hawg, whenever you want I have a buddy that can audition a pair of these locally; he's not selling them but at least we could get a taste of monstrous SDA's together and see what they're all about. I've heard plenty of smaller ones but his are 170lbs a pop. He's also got some JBL and KEF stuff, bunch of Mac, etc. Less than 20 minutes from my place.

Let me know, whenever you are going to head that way. I would love to tag along and hear those along with the other stuff. Let him know I can provide the drink of choice.

Cool, no problem either way, I just helped him set up a digital XBMC/high bitrate system so I'm sure he'll be cool with our visit.

Carrying a set of 2.3TL's cost me a hernia and 2 months worth of recovery...

I'm not shocked Nooshinjohn. I thought I was herniated from carrying a few smaller pairs of speakers (70-80lbs) on my shoulders but it ended up just being a torn abdominal muscle. I can't imagine actually getting herniated carrying speakers but if you carried 2.3TL's solo...I just couldn't even begin to consider doing such a thing.

I have the 2.3 TL's and LOVE them. They are mostly unmodified, with the exception of upgrading to the RDO tweets. You are welcome to come hear mine, but it would mean hanging out in my unheated garage to listen to them!

Trav, we have an option less than 20 minutes away to get a listen in but at some point I'd like to hang in your unheated garage preferably in the summer. Glad things are working out with your streamer.

Good call...but summer it should at least be an air conditioned garage.

So Hawg, what's the verdict? last night we got in:

SDA 1.3's, JBL L112's, JBL Sovereigns, AR11's, some KEF monitors, B&O's, and KEF 104/2's. Later that evening at the next stop was Infinity QLS, Infinity RS4.5, Design Acoustics, Acoustat 2+2's, and infinity infinitesimals. Hawg, maybe I missed some? So much good audio my head was spinning I may have forgotten some.

    I'm still tired...that was quite a night!

Tough call, but I think I will have to go 1.2 TLs or bust on SDAs, now that I have gotten a taste of them. But I was impressed with the KEFs. First time, I had ever heard them.

I can say this, I have never heard bass that low, that room was vibrating so hard I thought that the house was going to suffer some structural damage. The highs were also under control i.e. not overly harsh or bright, sounded damn good.

I think they'd work well in your room, I think you have the liberty to get the proper spacing off the back wall, etc.

McCarty and Hawg, it was a pleasure having you guys over. LOL on your comments. The bass these 1.2s produce is really second to none, hits so hard, so low. Hawg, I may have another interest out there and the big Polks may be available. You know how to reach me.

It was great to finally meet you. Those 1.2's were so wicked. I cannot believe you are considering selling the 1.2's.

I am still looking for some 2.3 TLs. These would make a great birthday present to myself.
