Anyone have experience in the use of a speaker selector? Which brand is best -- Niles, Sima, Monster, Russound???

Since a speaker selector will be added to the signal path, I was wondering if they possibly degrade the sound quality.

I'm considering buying separates, but want to use my existing HT front speakers, at least initially.
HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50” LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

mantis ought to be all over this one...

Niles has been around forever, and I think they are better quality now than they were 20 years ago.

Can they degrade sound? Sure, but at least you're dealing with the higher signal strengths. There is always a power limit associated with selectors though.

Can't quite make out what you are trying to do. Can you describe what it is in a little more detail?

Biggest issue is going to be their power handling capabilities as Tour has said. Any time that I've ever looked into them, the max that I've seen was 100wpc.......
