The title says it, I need advice as to which one of the present floor standing Polk speaker is closest to the sound of my Monitor 10B's. These 10B's are completely rebuilt, new drivers, and upgraded crossovers. These floor standers will be the last piece in my 5.1 system. Besides the 10B's I have a Polk AM2185-A CS2 Series II Center Channel Speaker, and a Klipsch RW-12-II subwoofer. I need full range rear speaker because I listen to a Lot of music recorded in 5.1 surround. What advice can you give me.

Not a floorstander, per se, but if you want a pair of rear speakers that fits, looks-wise and timbre, with your 10Bs, I'd suggest a pair of Monitor 5jrs on stands. I have a pair on Sanus NF30 stands for rears with my 10B fronts and CS400 center and just love the way they sound and look together. The Onkyo TX-SR805 Audyssey set the 5jrs up as full range, but I cross them to the subwoofer (DSWPRO550Wi) at 80Hz and they sound fantastic together.

If you NEED floorstanders a pair of RTA8T's would probably fit the bill. Even LS50's possibly....

Captain Obvious here- How about another pair of 10B's? Even unmodded should not be a problem as rear surrounds until you get funds and time to upgrade the components later if you desire.
2-ch System: Parasound P/LD 2000 pre, Parasound HCA-1000 amp, Parasound T/DQ Tuner, Phase Technology PC-100 Tower speakers, Technics SL-1600 Turntable, Denon 2910 SACD/CD player, Peachtree DAC iT and X1asynchorus USB converter, HSU VTF-3 subwoofer.

I have thought about another pair of 10B's or Monitor 7's for the rears. The rebuilt 10B's I have are fantastic, even better after adding the subwoofer. I have my Onkyo TX-NR709 sending everything from 80 Hz down to the Klipsch subwoofer. both the 10's and the 7's are easy too find and after updating the crossovers they will sound great.

Even 5B's would be good choice for rear since bass is handled by the sub and they are not too short compared to 7's.

    Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk.
Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.
