Front Channel and Center Channel advice - Newbie

I am looking to get either a pair of Polk Monitor 45s or TSi200s to replace an old pair of Sony floor standing speakers(ss-mf400h). I have Monitor 30s for the rear surround and a Boston HPS10se sub. This setup was pieced together over a long time and I am looking to match them up now.

Most of the reviews show the two sets to be fairly equal in specifications and customer reviews. Do you have any additional thoughts on the pair of bookshelf speakers? I would lore fear together smaller speakers around the TV for the front channel, but I realize I will need together speaker stands. The tv is in a corner of the room with a fireplace adjacent.

If I get the bookshelf speakers, as opposed to pastor of Monitor 55s or older Monitor 60s, I may need to get a center channel (which I do not own currently). If so, would a slim profile TL2 center match well? Or are there fairly substantial differences in that line as compared to the Monitor series? I need a slim profile speaker to fit in the current opening under the tv or in the cabinet opening.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

go for monitor 40's and a CS2 center, they match your 30's better, and being an old line, dont run as much anymore, check out fry's or newegg

As a follow-up question...any recommendations on quality stands for the monitor bookshelf line? I want to make sure I get a decent affordable stand that will stand up well on carpet.

I looked at the CS2 center channel and it is going to be too tall for the cabinet opening. The cabinet opening just below the TV is 5 1/2 (h) by 18 3/4 (w). The full size cabinet openings are all behind a glass door.

Any other thoughts? If not, thanks!

You may want to try the CS1.

It is a smaller, less powerful speaker, though.

I just got off the phone with Polk because I had the same problem with a center speaker. He said that the TL2 center will match up best with your speakers, while not ideal, should work just fine. He mentioned if you have a receiver with some kind of calibration system it should sound great. I should have my system up by the end of next weekend and will post an update on how it worked out... I will have a TL2 center with TSX220 fronts, TSX110 rears and a PSW10 sub being pushed by a Sony dh740.
