Svs pb-1000 vs. Sb-1000

As stated in the title, I am looking for a couple subs to complement a set of RtiA series I'm planning to order very soon. I'm looking at going with RtiA5, CsiA6, RtiA3 and have been thinking of going with either 1 Rhythmik sub or 2 less expensive SVS subs. I feel I've narrowed it down to the 2 SVS. My main concern is primarily HT use and aiming for the tightest most detailed bass possible. Rumbling and room shaking is not my focus as I'll be using these in a moderate size room in a condo where neighbours are of concern. Just nice clean detailed sound is what I'm looking for. Hoping my selection of speakers and the right sealed or ported sub will achieve my goals. I'm under the impression that the SB-1000 will give tighter bass and the PB-1000 will be more of a rumbling bass. But that is just my theory from reading too much. Suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to order very soon. Thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

You already started a previous thread asking the same thing: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?155803-Torn-Between-Subs-Need-Help

Best advice is buy the subs and try it for yourself.

Sorry, my bad. Just looking for an answer with specifics and reasoning and I guess I have to buy and hope as my answer.

We can't really tell you how a sub will sound in your room, with your placement, your system. The room dominates at the lower frequencies. If you want the tightest bass possible, you should look into getting measuring equipment and a EQ to see what's actually going on to optimize your setup.

Okay! Just thought there was a difference in sound between ported and sealed subs. Guess they sound the same and are room dependent.

In your other thread you stated that you were looking for the most impact possible for movie watching. The ported sub would be your best option as it goes a lot lower than the sealed sub. The PB-1000 sub is a lot larger and heaver also. For the cost of 2 subs ($1000) you could consider buying one better SVS sub, which will likely give you more of the quality sound that you are looking for. Just a thought. That PC-12 Plus looks nice.

The PB12-NSD is selling for $699 now. You get a lot of everything that people look for in a subwoofer at that price. Obviously not the last word in everything, but high marks in each category ... other than looks I suppose.

The PB-12 NSD is a great Bang for the Buck Sub. It offers more than you would expect and goes down to 18HZ ( +/- 3 db ).

I got Dual PB-1000 and although they were great the 2000 series came out two days after I got them so I'm returning for PB-2000. Will touch back on my experience with them when they come in toward the end of the month.
