Anyone familiar with the following?

"Japanese Blu-Spec CD pressing of this classic album. The Blue Spec format takes Blu-ray disc technology to create CD's which are compatible with normal CD players but provides ultra high quality sound. Sony."

Got this from a cd I was searching on Amazon. Can anyone comment on the audio quality of blu-spec?

    Hard to say - one would have to have the same mastering issued on a 'standard' CD and the blu-spec CD.

    I only have one blu-spec CD - Scorpions "Taken By Force" - must say it does sound *really good*!

    But, I have nothing to compare it to - and many times a disc will sound better because the mastering is superior.

    H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.
