7.1 Rear speaker set up

Hey guys need some good advice/experience with setting up my rears.
I just purchased FXiA6's to go along with my RTiA3's to complete my rear speakers. I want to set them up properly, but I am not sure what postion each set should go.
My room is set up where the coach is against the wall. Its kind of like a half wall, and there is a ledge where I keep the A3's. Its an english basement, so half out of the ground. Right now with just the A3's I have them kind of off to the side above my head a foot or 2 on the ledge. I dont have the option to place the side surrounds on side walls as the room is almost 40 feet wide. I purchased a set of 36inch Speaker stands.
My thought was to move the A3's to the side with the speakers stands and put the FXiA6's behind me coach width apart, and set them to dipole. Can anyone confirm if this sounds like a standard set up to start with? I know I will end up playing with it till it sounds right but I want a good reference to start with.

You could go either way using the A6's in each positions. I like the distance (side to side) of the room as it will give you more of a sense of space. If you use the A6's on the side I would turn them 180 degrees on their sides with the woofer side pointing downward. If using in the backrear normal placement with woofer facing each other. In a 7.1 setup the backrears don't get much work and the marjority of Dts HD Master are in 5.1. I would try both out in the surround side position and see which you like best and then send the other pair to the rear.Family Room HT 7.2/i]:Vizio Oled55h1 Pioneer Elite SC-LX502 Pioneer Elite BDP 85FD Eversolo DMP A6 Panamax M5300-EXSpeakers Fronts Fluance XF8L Center Polk Audio S35 Side Surrounds Fluance bipolar Rear Surrounds FluanceXF8 Bookshelf Subs SVS PB4000 x2 Living room 2ch: Crown Xli 1500 amp x2, Teac EQ MKII FX Audio X6 Mk II DAC Squeezebox Touch Fluance Signature Tower Speakers Panamax M5100-EXOffice media room:Vizio M50Q6 50" Pioneer Elite VSX LX301 Eversolo DMP-A6 Polkaudio R600 Towers Polkaudio Center R350 Panamax M4300 Monoprice 12" subMaster bedroom:Vizio M55Q7 Pioneer Elite VSX LX302 Pioneer Elite BDP 85FD Squeezebox Touch Fluance Signature Bookshelf fronts, Rears Fluance Signature Bipolar Polk Audio CS10 center Monoprice 12" sub Panamax M5300-EX

So your saying if I use them as stated, with the A6s as the rear speaker. (NOT SIDE REAR) I should flip flop them and use the right surround as the left and left as the right?
Isnt it normal for a di/bipole woofer to be facing away from each other?Man Cave: 7.1

Techniclly there is no right or left with the speakers itself, by turning them 180 (woofer side facing down) will give you more fill in the rears. Low feq are not directional, but the tweeters will reflect its sound to give you a bigger sense of space. give it a try and post the results.Family Room HT 7.2/i]:Vizio Oled55h1 Pioneer Elite SC-LX502 Pioneer Elite BDP 85FD Eversolo DMP A6 Panamax M5300-EXSpeakers Fronts Fluance XF8L Center Polk Audio S35 Side Surrounds Fluance bipolar Rear Surrounds FluanceXF8 Bookshelf Subs SVS PB4000 x2 Living room 2ch: Crown Xli 1500 amp x2, Teac EQ MKII FX Audio X6 Mk II DAC Squeezebox Touch Fluance Signature Tower Speakers Panamax M5100-EXOffice media room:Vizio M50Q6 50" Pioneer Elite VSX LX301 Eversolo DMP-A6 Polkaudio R600 Towers Polkaudio Center R350 Panamax M4300 Monoprice 12" subMaster bedroom:Vizio M55Q7 Pioneer Elite VSX LX302 Pioneer Elite BDP 85FD Squeezebox Touch Fluance Signature Bookshelf fronts, Rears Fluance Signature Bipolar Polk Audio CS10 center Monoprice 12" sub Panamax M5300-EX
