Lsim 703s and MicroPro 3000s

In our family room, I currently have Rti A9s (bi-amped) and a CsiA6 running off a Carver 705X. In addition, I have 2 MicroPro 3000s backing the A9s. I run a 3.1 setup and silence the rears in the receiver.

I have decided to move the A9s and the A6 to the movie room upstairs (replacing old Klipsch speakers). I am bringing in LSiM 703s for the family room downstairs. Haven't decided on one of the LSiM centers or another 703 for downstairs. I also bought an AdCom 5503 off Ebay. Looks perfect and I will assume it is in great shape (or just needs caps) until proven othewise.

Several decisions to make and would love to hear some recommendations. specifically:

Should I keep the Micro 3000s downstairs with the 703s or ship them upstairs with the A9s? One pair or the other will get new sub(s).

Should I add an LSiM 706 center or one more 703 as a center downstairs?

Since downstairs will be 50% music, use the Adcom downstairs or the Carver?

Thanks,

Dave

Before anyone points out that I am an idiot who can't count (fair point), i technically run a 3.2 for movies and use a 2.2 for music.

Let me also point out that you are not bi-amping.

I would use the MicroPro's with the 703's.

I'd keep em with the 703's, the 9's will have plenty of bass with proper power. If you want 3.2 I think the Lsim706 would be your answer.

    Got it. Thanks.

To quote you from another post last year: "True bi-amping requires using separate amps with their own power supply (this rules out every AVR on the market and most multi-channel amps) AND using active crossovers in place of the passive crossovers in your speakers."

And: "This guy does an excellent job at explaining bi-amping."

Thanks B. I think the aesthetics of that are a bit easier to sell to my beloved.
