My twin sixteen year old girls wanted a record player for Christmas. Go figure. Not some nice one, but some crappy player from Urban Outfitters (who also sell albums). Regardless, I plugged in the player and pulled out an album. I showed them how to hold a record and how not to hold it. I dropped the needle down and started playing some band I've never heard of. First question was, how do I get to the next song? The question brought a smile to my face as my 16 year old kids are experiencing something virtually every one of us have experienced for many years. Just pick it up and move it to the next white line. All that is old is new again.

LOL. They are soon going to learn the joy of dropping the tone arm onto a song, or accidentally sending it bouncing over the record. Then they will learn the joy of ruining a record, followed by the joy of buying a new record. Live and learn. That is the name of the game.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

I was brought up in the late 60-early 70's with records. Then came the cassettes & TT's went into the closets for some Here 35-40 years late im enjoying them again. Hope they enjoy them as we did then & now. Learning is the fun of TT's & searching for albums is always enjoyable too..

You need to find a player that will drop a stack of 45's...... Then a stack of Beatle 45's...... That'll give them some kicks......

LP records are designed for random access I/O. Reel to reel tapes, not so much.
Tell your daughters that you'll get 'em one of these and they can be the idol of their peer group ;-)
