Anyone else using a TX-SRx05 series AVR? Have you had anything odd happen when up converting the video? Mine has split the signal(like it's loosing a sync signal) when going from composite to component or composite/component to HDMI. I might be overlooking something in the menu's but I doubt it. Any thoughts or ideas guys? This is a pain in the arse.

The x05 series is widely know for failing the Hdmi board due to heat issues. I would have it checked out.Main Surround -

Another ODD thing I've observed is that when it does this, all I have to do is switch sources and then back and it'll clear up for a while. I had KIND of thought that PCB was the issue. For a LONG LONG time I drove my M12's(at times quite hard) with the amps in my 705, so heat makes a LOT of sense. I'm guessing a new pcb would require some type of calibration or alignment procedure to get it into spec(I have yet to find a service manual for it-hifi engine has the user manual though), any ideas? Or do you think it's possible to order a new one and drop it in?Monitor 12's-RDO's and XO's done!

It is my understanding that onkyo only sells parts to authorised service centers.Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

I have a 705 that loses settings when the power goes out. I ended up replacing it with a 717 as it made more sense than to pay to and from shipping.Oh, Listen here mister. Shipping that bad? IF I do anything it'll be an upgrade to a pre/pro and a 5 channel amp to drive the HT stuff. HOPING next year will be a little more kind to my bank account.Monitor 12's-RDO's and XO's done!
