compare the two

For the speakers I have is one better than the other. I listen to mostly HT at moderately levels, dont hit reference much if at all.

I am looking for something that will give full bodied sound and give life to my Polks.

I was also thinking about the Onkyo tx-sr601, its hundreds less and offers a lot. Is it worth the $ to step up to the 701 or the above mentioned Denon?

Compare those to what is offered on 6th Ave if you order the 3802 for $699 you will get the 3803. The prices at 6th Ave are worth looking at and compareing them to Crutchfield.

I just checked the site and they now have the 3803 listed as out of stock. I wonder what that does to the whole thing?

It says it is expected in 21 days. I seen people order them that way (on HT forum) and still recieved them just had a wait, some longer some shorter but all recieved them. Might be worth a call and see how long the wait really is. With it being the new year they are probably tring to keep stocked items down for tax purposes.

I know the Denon was a great deal but my wallet lead me to a TXSR700 for $360. Was open box but never hooked up at CC. I think I can live with this. :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Onkyo has the ability to sport the "center channel on steroids" while the Denon does not? Or..At what point does the grade of recievers, among the two, cancel out the option of running the speaker level outputs while also running the pre-outs?? Or, will higher level Denons sport this feature, while any level Onkyo's, that sport pre-outs, do that regardless. I'm not aware of the capabilities of the two. :D
