Congrats on the news! We didn't find out with our first, we wanted the surprise, but we did find out early with our second. It is great to find out no matter when it occurs.

The other guys are correct. Headphone rig is what you need over the next few years. Between a sleep deprived wife and a light sleeping infant, I couldn't listen to music at more than a whisper for a couple years. A good headphone rig and FLAC music files made it better.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I'm voting right now that we don't have one of those here, as it can only turn out very poorly...

that is a great quote. My oldest just started kindergarten this year. Of course mom and dad were the ones crying...

I actually misquoted it. It's "days are slow, years are fast." Semantics, but true either way. Not where I first heard it, but the lyrics are in a Modest Mouse song. How appropriate for an audio forum:)

Then again, back in the day, read Dr. Spocks book on raising children front to back and then was told, Dr. Spock never had children. My response: Are you kidding!!!
Real advise, be patient, be yourself and oh, "put money back for college NOW", and laugh cause whats coming is better than life itself, even when it makes you wonder!!!!

Congrats! My little girl will be turning 1 in January. Enjoy and appreciate the time as it goes by way too fast. My oldest is 2.5 and can't believe how fast that has gone by. Oh and enjoy surfing the Forum when no one else is on ;)

Emasculated? Hell no. Real men make GREAT fathers.

Trust me, having to wear a pink blanket as a cape and skip down the street "like a princess" with my 3 year old in front of all my neighbors is pretty emasculating...

But I would do it again in a heartbeat to make her smile.
