Series 5 Polk Speakers

I inherited a pair of series 5 speakers, they are from the early 80's, I blew the mid range from one of them and I called Polk Audio for replacement help, they told me the model would be a RD-6502-2 at a cost of U$60.00 each.
I have seen the speakers in E bay for about U$120.00 plus shipping for the pair.
Any idea if I can get the mid range any cheaper anywhere else? I don;t feel like spending U$120.00 for the mid range speakers if I can get a used but working pair of speakers for about the same price..

well you now belong to club Polk that will get you a discount from Polk so be sure to tell them that. Have you taken out the old driver to check the number on the back out the magnet? You need to double check that for sure. You can get drivers on ebay at about 25-30 each + shipping problem is now your taking a chance on the magnet slipping and ruining that driver in the shipping. These older drivers have a glue problem now not saying you shouldn't just know the pitfalls. When you get older drivers it is good to run JB weld around the magnet to keep it from slipping.

If it is a MW6502 you can probably find one on ebay. Seem to be quite few of them available.
