The Beatles 13CD box featuring the original track listings, mixes and cover art for the U.S. releases of (almost all) their albums that had different track listings, mixes, etc. and most will have both the mono and stereo mixes. I will be ordering this one for sure! I most cases I prefer the U.S. track listings and mixes compared to the U.K. counterparts. Link below:

"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Obviously some of the tracks on each of the albums in this set would have the same mixes as the U.K. counterparts albums, but not all the tracks. Since it was the U.K. versions that were remastered in 2009, only some of the tracks on this set would be available to be included with the U.S. counterparts and be the 2009 remasters. The songs that have different mixes obviously were not remastered in 2009 and will not be those versions. I would prefer that they DO NOT mix the different masterings and just release all the songs from the same masters (re-masters?? It does not implicitly state if these were re-mastered or not??)as to not screw things up from a tonal point of view.

The main thing with this release is that this is the only way to get the track listing(s) for each album included (or that album at all, other than the original U.S. vinyl released in the 60's and 1970) and many of the songs included here are a different mix than their U.K. counterpart(s). IMO, many of the mixes are better than the U.K. mixes, but do realise that's a matter of prefernce.

This is the one I picked up.

I know the early versions of this US box set had a LOT of pressing issues. There was a pretty big uproar and a lot of return/exchanges and repress replacements. I believe they figured it out after the initial issues. Regardless, the set I received had absolutely no issues and sounds fantastic.

I can't really help you out with comparisons, because I only had about half the catalog prior to picking up this set and those had various amounts of surface noise. Also, I don't own any Beatles cd's, only vinyl.

That vinyl set is still the U.K. track listings and mixes of the albums. It is not the same as the U.S. (Capitol, NOT Parlophone) versions of albums. The track listings, mixes and covers were completely different between the U.K. (released on Parlophone records) and the U.S. (released on Capitol records) pressings. Look up the differences in the track listings and mixes between the two versions of each album. They are drastically different in some cases and slightly different in all cases.
