Can someone tell me if this pictured Monitor 5a has the Peerless tweeter?

    That is the peerless, congrats a nice speaker.
    2-ch System: Parasound P/LD 2000 pre, Parasound HCA-1000 amp, Parasound T/DQ Tuner, Phase Technology PC-100 Tower speakers, Technics SL-1600 Turntable, Denon 2910 SACD/CD player, Peachtree DAC iT and X1asynchorus USB converter, HSU VTF-3 subwoofer.

    Using both of mine as a center channel on their sides, tweeters facing inwards. You'll never want to get rid of them.

    Can someone please tell me the specs of these speakers, 4 or 8 ohms and efficiency?

    I read that some iterations of this speaker are 4 ohms and others are 8 ohms. I just got these home and am waiting for them to warm up to room temperature before I try them as it is freezing tonight. Don't want to hurt caps or drivers.

    Those caps are so old you can't hurt them any worse than time has.

    Been listening to these all day today. A great speaker. The Peerless tweeter makes a big difference. Smooth detailed highs.

    I am driving these with a Proton 930 receiver and a Rotel 965bx LE and the combo is great.

    Do these speakers benefit from more expensive speaker cables like Kimber, Audioquest etc? They are really good as it is but am curious.

    I have mine connected with a pair of MIT Avt 2 (might be overkill) but they sound crazy good, epecially after Westmassguy modded my crossovers

    I am really enjoying these but they are old so any advice on replacing crossover caps appreciated with source. I am not interested in making them sound any brighter though.

    SonicCaps and Mills resistors (great combo) not bright at all. In my experience, the clarity caps are minimally brighter than Sonicaps
