Got my Rotel RMB-1066 Wednesday and it was very minty. I mean it looked like it was right out of the box. Very psyched and hooked up immediately. Started in bridged mode 150 x 3 and let it warm up a bit running stuff from the TV. Then it shut off. Weird. Checked all the connections and polarity...good to go. Tried again....hour or so later....shut off again. Hmmmm. Fiddled around with the 12v trigger and input sensor mode. 12v trigger would turn the amp on, but would not turn it off. Sensor on mode worked sporadically.

Thought maybe my speakers, even rated at 8 ohms were causing protection mode to kick in. So, I hooked it up in stereo mode in 5 ch. Shut down again. I think the amp is defective and have contacted the seller asking for a refund. Just started the process and hope the guy is reasonable.

Me too! Seller had a 100% rating and it was like new as he described. He said it was his uncles and he just hooked it up for a bit to see if it worked. He really had no experience with it other than a quick check.

Ya, Ebay. Used PayPal with Bill Me Later. Think it will work itself out, but always a pain in the arse.

Sorry to hear it man. I've become a little leary of buying used electronics recently. I'll still buy the speakers, but as far as electronics go, I'm now one to head into the deal expecting something to be wrong.

I know. I have had pretty good luck for the most part. This seemed like a lock and I really think the guy had no idea. Just selling something he got from his deceased uncle. Anyway, will give it some time to work out. If not, at least there are resources.

Well you went Bill me later and not a debit card so your chances are very good. Sorry about the bad luck. I hate when a new toy craps out.

I've had this happen as well and it sucks but usually its just a fluke. Let me know what I can do and it sounds like it's gonna work out.

Guy got back to me already. Said he will refund in full. He confirmed that he didn't run it too long to check it out. Pretty cool. All I am out is shipping back to Philly area. Price of the hobby!
