Have a pair of 1M Proline (XLR) shotguns that I'm no longer using and can find a new home.

These are not easy to find so I did think of keeping them for awhile but just won't use in the current set up. I bought these original from another forum member. 275.00 plus shipping on these.

    I've wanted to make this move for quite some time. At this point, IC's and cables are my weak link.

    I have basic MIT EXP Proline and Signal Cable XLR's that I've used to connect the Oppo 105 directly to a Sunfire 300 that was refreshed by Rita's. This combo feeds fully modded 1.2tl's (198's, rings, spikes, dynamat, inductors, caps, boards, dreadnaught, dampening). Absolutely love the results with the 105 as a pre but haven't found swapping either XLR makes a significant difference in SQ between the two.

    Speaker cables are MIT EXP 2's that I picked up during the factory second sale a few years ago. My next move will be to pick up matching Shotgun S3's to replace the EXP 2's. After searching CP and reading many comments...can't justify the cost for the S2 or S1 or the newest .3 versions of them. Been looking @ Joe Abrams' site and he has a pair of 10' NOS that just might be the ticket. Think I'll call him Monday.

    Definately get the S3 10' cables. That will really improve your audio more than the IC's (by no means am I saying the IC's WON'T improve your audio). The speaker cables will more, IMO based on my experience.

    Yeah, read one of the threads where someone asked which to replace first and cables was the consensus for most impact, so am doing this **** backwards. Fortunately, I'm able to afford both and have decided to take the plunge. Cable debates be damned...I'm finally going to be able to draw my own conclusions.:smile: Thanks for your advice and relaying your experience...it's appreciated.

    Whoohoo. Just spoke w/Joe Abrams and the S3 speaker cables are ordered. Really nice guy to chat w/and we laughed about Jesse drumming up business for him. He also throws in free shipping for military...should ship late this week or beginning of next week. Can't wait to get the XLR's and cables in my system. I have a full house for Christmas, so won't be able to really sit down and take them in until the last bit of family leave on Jan 13.

    The speaker Cables are awesome, you will enjoy them for many years to come, and Joe is a great guy..

    My wife gave me the rolled eye look when I pulled them out of the box, just be prepared to be floored when you pull them out..

    I share your enthusiasm jaycee, I have some MIT cables getting sent out to me and cannot wait to try them as all I ever heard was the avt and exp. I should maybe contact joe to get a better deal for the matching ic's to go with.
